How Vivus gives back

A tree for every booking, a share of every stay for safe housing, and a partner network that sends new regulars to Medellín's independent businesses.

Travel creates a responsibility. You arrive in someone else's city, you use its streets, its cafés, its goodwill. Vivus was built to leave that city a little better, and to make giving back part of every booking rather than a box you tick.

A tree for every booking

Every stay at La Martina, every flight and every Vivus Experience booking plants one verified tree through Plant-for-the-Planet PlanetCash. Members choose which forest project their trees go to. Flights booked through our partner Travel Counsellors plant a tree in the Amazon as well.

Meals for neighbours

Every stay helps fund Vivus giving back directly. Every two weeks the Vivus community gets together to cook and deliver meals to people in need.

Local first

The Vivus members club is built on independent businesses: bars, clubs, cafés, bakeries and guides across Medellín. They join free, with no commission. They set an offer for our members, and our members bring them new regulars. Right now that includes Mad Records / Bar Cool, Vibora Sound System and Fresh Disco Retro, with GOAT Sports Bar, Capri and La Fabrika Bakery on the way.

Local guides

Vivus Experience excursions and cultural programming are being co-designed with Planète Urgence partners on the ground. Local guides, real prices, no markup.

Why it matters to you

Staying at Vivus means your two or three weeks in Medellín count for more than a room. You keep your work routine, you meet people, and the booking itself does some good. That is what we mean by living without sacrifices.
